Farzaneh Moradi is a poet, writer, journalist, and performance art concept developer from Iran. In November 2025, Moradi arrived in Stockholm, where she is an ICORN resident until 2027. She has continued her literary and artistic work in Sweden and has participated in and performed at several events, including the 2026 ICORN General Assembly in Barcelona.

Farzaneh Moradi’s work focuses on themes such as social injustice, protest, repression, exile, love, the erasure of the female body, and the fragmentation of identity, challenging systems of oppression and imposed silence. Reflecting the lived experience of contemporary Iranian society through personal and political narratives, Moradi’s work has been published in various newspapers, literary magazines, and online publications.

Moradi has published two collections of poetry: Khodkoshi-ye Nahangha (The Suicide of the Whales / The Road Was Drenched in Sweat), published by Mehravesh Publishers in 2006, and Ketab-e Digari (Another Book / The Book of Another). Her first book was partially censored by the Iranian government during the official publication process. In response, Moradi rewrote the censored sections by hand in copies of the book and personally distributed them in public spaces. Her second book was published outside the official publishing system through underground networks. Moradi has also performed her poetry at literary gatherings in Tehran.

Farzaneh Moradi’s work exists at the intersection of poetry, performance, and social intervention. Her performance art projects focus on the body, memory, censorship, and processes of erasure, bringing together art and documentation in her practice.

In addition to her literary and artistic work, Moradi has worked as a journalist, collaborating with student publications as well as independent and underground magazines. Following the student protests at Amir Kabir University and increasing security pressure and censorship, she left official journalism and continued writing outside formal institutional structures.

Alongside these activities, Moradi has also been involved in work related to women’s and children’s rights, which she later continued during her time in Turkey.

Due to her work, activism, and connections with other members of Iran’s underground literary community, Moradi was repeatedly questioned and interrogated and was arrested on several occasions. As a result, she left Iran for Turkey in 2015.

During her time in Turkey, Moradi prepared her third collection of poetry and wrote two screenplays. She also worked with several NGOs, focusing on women’s rights, refugee issues, and educational support for homeless children.

In November 2025, Farzaneh Moradi arrived in Stockholm, where she is an ICORN resident until 2027. She has continued her literary and artistic work in Sweden and has participated in and performed at several events, including the 2026 ICORN General Assembly in Barcelona.
