
Harstad joined ICORN in 2013, becoming the world's first City of Refuge for musicians at risk.
The ICORN programme in Harstad is facilitated in collaboration between Scene Nord (Troms County Municipality), Harstad Municipality's Cultural and Integration Units, and other projects and organisations in the city.
Harstad has hosted five musicians in ICORN residence- Abazar Hamid (also known as Tore Brun) from Sudan, Hamid Sakhizada from Afghanistan, Iranian metal musicians Arash Ilkhani and Nikan Koshravi from the band Confess, and Ghawgha from Afghanistan.
