Asieh Amini is an Iranian poet, journalist, and activist who arrived in Trondheim as the city's writer in residence in 2009. Communicatio has published her latest poetry collection, 'Do Not Come to My Dreams with Guns.'
Do Not Come to My Dreams with Guns is an original release in Norwegian with some selections in Farsi, translated by Nina Zandjani. As a result of the 2005 publication of Asieh's first work of poetry, UNESCO deemed her the top young poet in Iran. After she attended the International Poetry Festival in Stockholm in 2009, she was advised not to return home due to her outspoken criticism of the election and the state of human rights in Iran.
Asieh's poetry is full of strong and beautiful imagery. She uses her words to express both the humanitarian crisis in Iran and to talk about her life in exile.
