Easterine Iralu's novel selected for UNESCO translation programme
Easterine Kire Iralu is happy to report that her book has been chosen by the Indian government to be translated into the 6 UNESCO languages. She has a Kurdish translator ready and the Chinese cartoonist Qing Zhou is interested in translating to Chinese, but Iralu is still looking for a Russian, Spanish and French translator.
Easterine Kire Iralu is an author and lecturer in English literature that has been forced to flee her home in Nagaland. As someone who, despite her non-violent principles, found herself caught between the Indian government and the Nagaland separatist movement, she has had to live in exile since 2005. In addition to her writing, Iralu is also an active storyteller, who often includes musical elements in her presentations.
The author is also getting ready to launch the first book for Naga children (ages: 5-10 years) and she describes the completed design as "really beautiful". It's being made by young Naga designers and will be published in English.
