Asker

ICORN member since:
  • 2018

Member: Asker Municipality

Partners and host: Asker Public Library

Following a unanimous decision in Asker City Council Tuesday 12 June 2018, the City of Asker will join the network and take on the responsibility to host writers and artists who are restricted from working in their home countries.

Asker Public Library will be the official host of the ICORN programme in the city. Siri Tidemann Naalsund, Director of Asker Public Library, says:

By offering a persecuted artist refuge in the city, the Municipality of Asker stands up for freedom of expression, and shows that what happens globally also impacts us locally. It will bring strength and inspiration to our local cultural life and international work.
