Parvin Ardalan co-writes new theatre play
Parvin Ardalan is Malmö city's first ICORN Guest Writer and a writer's representative on the ICORN board. She is an Iranian journalist and women's rights activist. In 2007 Parvin was awarded the Olof Palme Prize for her work for equal rights for men and women in Iran.
Parvin has co-written the play, Nine Parts of Desire, with Heather Raffo. The audience will encounter a whole cross-section of Iraqi women, including a dejected doctor, a murderous beautiful painter, a radical Communist and a mother who took her child's name. Nine Parts of Desire will be playing from August 27th through September 11th 2011.
Here is an interview of Parvin published earlier this year.
