Krakow becomes ICORN member city

A ceremony taking place at the Borderless People Conference in Krakow's Villa Decius on 13 and 14 October, will officially mark Krakow joining ICORN's expanding network of cities of refuge to persecuted writers.

The Borderless People conference is a collaboration between the Villa Decius Association of Krakow and the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees office (UNHCR) in Poland. It will bring together international experts and organizations to discuss topics related to the crossroads of politics and human rights.

Containing among other events the 2011 Fridtjof Nansen Lecture by Council of Europe Ambassador to the EU Mr. Torbjørn Frøysnes and the award of the Polish Sergo Vieira de Mello Prize to former French Foreign Minister Mr. Bernard Kouchner, the conference will culminate with the President of Krakow signing the ICORN agreement with ICORN Director Helge Lunde.
