Iranian writer leaves Chiusi after two years

Iranian writer Ehskevari is saying goodbye to the City Hall authorities and leaving the city of Chiusi, after finding hospitality in the frame of ICORN for the past two years.

Ehskevari says the two years spent in Chiusi have been very useful for him, since he has been able to finish the first volume of the history of Iran and write articles. "Chiusi is a place of culture and memory of the Etruscan civilization, a very quiet and peaceful environment ideal for my work. The people are very loving and hospitable: despite my difficulty with the language, I could appreciate them and they have helped me a lot ", says the writer.

Yet, it is now time to say goodbye. ICORN member Chiusi is supported by the Tuscany Region, and will host a new intellectual thanks to an apartment offered by the journalist and author Maria Pace Ottieri. Ehskevari will probably move to a new refuge, given the situation at home. "The situation in Iran, in terms of human rights and especially freedom of expression," he says, "has never been so critical. The important thing however is that the democratic movement against the regime, especially for the last year, has never been so strong, serious and full of hope".
