ICORN at the European Parliament

ICORN Executive Director Helge Lunde will be speaking at a public hearing on EU support to human rights defenders at the European Parliament in Brussels on Monday 25 January.

Heidi Hautala (www.heidihautala.net), chair woman of the European Parliament’s subcommittee on human rights, has invited ICORN together with representatives from among others the UN, the OSCE, the European Commission, to discuss a working paper she is presenting with the title “EU policies in support of Human Rights Defenders”.

ICORNs presence at the hearing represents both an important recognition of ICORN as an independent, international organization, and a great potential for ICORN to strengthen the official European dimension of our work and activities, says Helge Lunde.
