November 15th is the International Imprisoned Writers' Day. We thought it appropriate to choose this day to officially launch the Shahrazad project.
The City of Barcelona is one of six cities of refuge to initiate the Shahrazad project (for an abstract see this link ). The program for the day, arranged by Catalan PEN is called Writing Without Fear: Freedom of Expression.
Four ICORN Guest Writers will be taking part in the seminar:
Easterine Kire Iralu from Nagaland (in Tromsø)
Salem Zenia from Algeria (in Barcelona)
Faraj Bayrakdar from Syria (in Stockholm)
Nada Yousif from Iraq (in Molde)
While in Barcelona for the event, representatives from all six cities will be meeting to discuss the future responsibilities and possibilities for the Shahrazad project.
