We are happy to announce that the Norwegian City of Asker is ready to join the network and host writers and artists who are restricted from working in their home countries.

Following a unanimous decision in Asker City Council Tuesday 12 June, we are happy to announce that the City of Asker is ready to join the network and take on the responsibility to host writers and artists who are restricted from working in their home countries.

Asker Public Library will be the official host of the ICORN programme in the city. Siri Tidemann Naalsund, Director of Asker Public Library, says:

By offering a persecuted artist refuge in the city, the Municipality of Asker stands up for freedom of expression, and shows that what happens globally also impacts us locally. It will bring strength and inspiration to our local cultural life and international work.
