Skien, Norway
Skien is a city within a south-western region of Norway called Grenland. It was the childhood home of the playwright Henrik Ibsen. This fact is commemorated through a truly unique museum. And still today the area carries on the dramatic tradition by housing one of Norway's most respected theatre companies: Grenland Friteater.
Not far from Oslo and with it's own shopping venues, Skien also offers a wide range of outdoor activities: from horse riding to boating, hunting to herb gardening, there is truly something for everyone.

Stavanger, Norway:
Considered the Oil Capital of Norway and the "biggest small town" in Scandinavia, Stavanger has been a City of Refuge since 1996 and is currently hosting its fifth Guest Writer.
The City hosts Kapittel, an annual International Freedom of Speech and Literature Festival, and it has been appointed as a "European City of Culture" by the EU for the year 2008.
The city is also the home of ICORN's Administration Centre.
Trondheim,
Norway
Trondheim was Norways' first capital city, established in 997 AD, and remains today the location for each King's coranation. Although Trondheim is only 500 kilometers from the Arctic Circle, the Gulf Stream ensures a moderate climate for the wonderful nature.
Trondheim is host to one of Norway's four universities and 1 in every 7 of the 170,000 inhabitants is a student. Norway is one of six cities involved in the Livable City Project.
