Added: November 2009 to Network News
The ICORN Administration Centre has the great pleasure to announce that The Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College has signed the membership agreement with ICORN, the International Cities of Refuge Network. For a period of time, ICORN has been cooperating with present US cities of refuge, originally forming the Cities or Refuge North America (CoRNA), among them Pittsburgh, Ithaca NY and Las Vegas. The city of Miami, though, is upon signing the present agreement the first US city to become a full fledged ICORN member.
8-15 November 2009, The Florida Center for Literary Arts at Miami Dade College is running the Miami Book Fair International, featuring among others Margaret Atwood, Orhan Pamuk, Barbara Kingsolver, Isabella Rosselini, Richard Powers and Iggy Pop. They are expected to receive their first ICORN guest writer in December 2009.
